Dessarin Hills The Time of Troubles & Era of Upheaval Inspired By Ed Greenwood

The Dessarin Hills are a grouping of tall, rugged hills in the western stretch of the Savage Frontier. The River Dessarin winds its way through the hills, which dominates the landscape on either side. The hills lay south of the city of Yartar, north of the Sumber Hills, east of the North Sword Foothills & Starmetal Hills and it contains few settlements. The Evermoor lies north of the hills. The Highwood is to the east, separated by wild open plains sought as hunting grounds for exotic creatures. The navigacable Surbrin River flows through the hills from the Evermoor until it meets the Dessarin River.

A number of ancient dwarven ruins, "some of which have been lost to time" dot the landscape of the hills. Jundar's Hill is a prominent landmark at the northern end of these hills, west of the Dessarin River. In addition to the Uthgardt barbarians that claim the hills as their land, they are home to savage humanoids, such as orcs and ogres. Beyond these are even more dangerous creatures, namely hill giants and manticores.
